Individual Psychotherapy
The word “psychotherapy” comes from the words “psyche” and “therapevein,” which in ancient Greek means “to take care of.” In essence, it is a form of therapy through dialogue. It is a process of communication between two people: the therapist, who has the knowledge and appropriate training, and the patient (or client), who is seeking help. The goal is to relieve mental pain and find new ways of understanding and dealing with difficulties.
The therapist offers a safe and supportive discussion framework, where the client can express themselves by searching for the constructions of their own reality, observe themselves and their thoughts and discover new perspectives and solutions. The goal is the opportunity to reconsider the way they relate to themselves and others, the functional disruption of established communication patterns that lead them to a dead end and the reduction of their mental pain.
